The Youth for Christ is an organization whose purpose is to unite the youth and
their sponsors throughout the Metroplex-North Texas Area for unity of the youth in the
Churches of Christ. The main intent is for the youth to form bands of friendship with
other Christian youth that will be lasting and lead to adult relationships. The youth need
to have a wider circle of friends to choose from other than their immediate congregation.
In order to promote unity among the youth in the Metroplex-North Texas Area,
the Organization will seek to:
A. Bring about a closer relationship between the youth in the Churches of Christ.
B. Encourage the youth to seek wholesome activities with their peers.
C. Promote an atmosphere so the youth will eagerly search the Word of God. An
example would be to readily participate in the Bible Bowl contests.
D. Develop activities that will model proper study techniques so they may be
able to be successful in the Bible Bowls and just know how to study their
bibles.
E. Bring about a positive working relationship among youth and adults in the
Church.
F. Be a model organization for the local congregations.
G. Be mentors for the youth.
H. Establish a Scholarship Fund to benefit Youth for Christ students at
Southwestern Christian College in Terrell, Texas.
I. Actively seek to expose Non-Christians to the Word of God.
